Antiques Fair
In keeping with Larchmere tradition, the spirit of the Larchmere
Festival rests
soundly with antique decorative arts. Sublime,
distinguished and well-crafted furniture and small collectibles will be
featured by both merchants who have shops on the street, in addition to
invited dealers who will create a mini antiques fair of quality
collectibles.

Sidewalk Sales
We aim to cover the sidewalks from East 130th Street to East 121st
street with interesting vendors of all kinds. Of course the merchants
who live year-round on Larchmere will be represented in front of their
stores, but the spaces on the edges, corners and in-between will be
filled by vendors of collectibles, kitsch, vintage goods, community
resources and foods of all kinds. There's an art to the boulevard
browse, and with almost ten blocks of great stuff, this is the heart of
street festival.

E. 130 Streets

invite you to discover the quirky, homemade kitsch that has made them
famous.

Mural in-progress
One of the projects that the Larchmere Merchants Association is working
on is street beautification and community building through the creation
of murals. A mural on the south wall of the LifeSkills building
is currently underway, and long-time Larchmere tenant Ted Kurz is the
winning artist. Kurz had his architectural office on
Larchmere just two doors down from the mural location, and in his spare
time and since retirement, he has taken to watercolor renditions of the
neighborhood. These, in addition to sepia-toned images of the
residential sector will comprise a multi-faceted mural.
Unfortunately, Ted will not be at the Festival to chat, but the model
for his design will be, as will information about visiting the
work-in-progress.

Historians
We have invited our friend
and local historian Vince will be on-hand to discuss the history of the
Larchmere neighborhood as only someone who has lived in the
neighborhood for eight decades can. Joining him will be Heather,
an
Ursuline student working on a Larchmere history project. Together
they can tell you stories and listen to your stories, as we celebrate
our local history.

Neighborhood Connections
The Festival is co-sponsored by the
Larchmere Merchants Association and the Larchmere Community
Association, with grant assistance from Neighborhood Connections.
The Cleveland Foundation's Neighborhood Connections is a special grants
program designed to assist Cleveland neighborhood groups to strengthen
the social network of their community while dealing creatively with
their most important concerns. Grants are intended to spur small
grassroots community efforts, and while doing so, to assist groups and
individuals in the community to connect with others. Grants may
be used for a wide array of activities and projects, and groups are
encouraged to think in new ways about what will work in their
communities and with whom they might partner. Learn more at the
Neighborhood Connection's table outside the Community Flea Market lot
at 12605
Larchmere.
